《Vincent》最早問(wèn)世在1982年，片長(zhǎng)只有5分多鐘，是蒂姆·波頓在迪斯尼的早期作品，講的是一個(gè)叫Vincent的小男孩，幻想自己是一名著名的恐怖片演員，飾演將妻子活埋后不堪精神重負(fù)的兇手?，F(xiàn)實(shí)與幻想不斷交錯(cuò)形成戲劇張力，小男孩在自己幻想的愛(ài)倫.坡式結(jié)尾中“死去”。這個(gè)叫文森特的小男孩很孤獨(dú)，他的腦子里充滿了各式各樣的古怪而新奇的念頭，但卻受到成人社會(huì)的壓抑，他陷入到深深的孤獨(dú)之中，活在冥想中那充滿鬼怪的世界里。這部短片可以說(shuō)奠定了蒂姆·波頓以后動(dòng)畫(huà)電影的基調(diào)，包含了他標(biāo)志性的所有元素和歌特式的風(fēng)格。哥特式的電影場(chǎng)景，哥特式的狗，哥特式的孩子，戀尸癖，埋葬的新娘，所有的特征都表達(dá)的淋漓盡致。配音也呈現(xiàn)了蒂姆·波頓動(dòng)畫(huà)電影中人物特有的語(yǔ)言節(jié)奏。整個(gè)短片有著讓人一見(jiàn)難忘的黑色狂想氣氛。（為本片配音的正是著名恐怖片演員Vincent Price，而此片也正是蒂姆·伯頓向他致敬的作品，Vincent后來(lái)在《剪刀手愛(ài)德華》中飾演科學(xué)家一角）。

影片已經(jīng)具備了初步的蒂姆－伯頓式的哥特風(fēng)格，陰郁、神秘、黑暗的氛圍在每一個(gè)鏡頭中洋溢著，甚至是人物的造型也是蒂姆－伯頓的經(jīng)典模式。盡管只是一部動(dòng)畫(huà)片主角文森特的造型和剪刀手愛(ài)德華卻驚人的相似?！段纳亍放臄z完成之后迪斯尼公司的高層認(rèn)為這部作品恐怖、陰暗，不適宜兒童觀看因而將之封殺。

One night while reading a gruesome tale,

He read a passage that made him turn pale.

Such horrible news he could not survive,

For his beautiful wife had been buried alive.

He dug out her grave to make sure she was dead,

Unaware that her grave was his mother's flower bed.
